Website Design:

Our websites are custom built to meet your needs.  Check out our portfolio and request a quote to see how we can help your business to succeed online.  Below you will find some random add-ons for websites or other services we provide that may be beneficial to your company.

Responsive website design:

A responsive layout is one that responds to the type of device that is viewing it.  It changes shape and dimensions to provide the optimum user experience.

As a web developer, I see the increasing number of people that view websites on mobile devices rather than on desktop computers.  The screenshot below was taken recently as statistics for a popular website of mine.

The red circle indicates the percentage of users that use mobile devices to find the site versus desktop computers.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization):

SEO like any form of marketing, if done right, can have a huge impact on your bottom line. In the age of the Internet, most businesses are struggling just to get by. No matter what type of business you run, being visible in the search engines can make a difference in the success of your company.

Professional Services
If you happen to run a local professional service like a plumbing contractor, law firm or insurance agency, its mission critical to have search engine exposure. Nobody looks up stuff in the phone books anymore. If they need to find an attorney they simple go online and Google it. This is where most businesses are losing out. Most local professional services have little to no search engine exposure. How many potential clients per day do you think you are losing due to not showing up on the first page in Google? For most small to medium businesses this can be a game changer. Increased search engine exposure can lead directly to your bottom line.

Retail Stores
Most retail companies have a website but that’s generally where it stops. They may put their website on their business cards and on their front doors but that’s usually about it. The way online shopping is increasing more and more each year, if your products aren’t visible to searchers, you are leaving money on the table.

The Sheer Numbers
Depending on your location you may get some decent traffic coming through your store or stopping by your office. That kind of traffic is nothing compared to the keyword volume most searches get. Let’s put it this way, if you run a ladies boutique store and sell handbags. How many more handbags do you think you would sell if you came up on the first page for black handbags or handbags online? You could easily triple or quadruple your sell through rate.

SEO Guarantees:

You are not required to pay us for SEO each month it does not perform as promised.

Social Media Management:

This includes designing and setting up Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts, as well as updating each of them weekly.

Content management system:

A content management system (CMS) allows anyone with simply a valid username and password to make changes, additions or revisions to your website without ANY special knowledge or training.  Using a content management system, you can easily upload images, embed videos, stylize, change or rearrange the text etc..   We typically use WordPress, which is the most common of such systems by far.  This is completely free and easy to use and update.  When we integrate a CMS into your website, we maintain the look and feel of the mock-ups you approved in the graphic design stage.

Home Page Slideshow:

Please see JAGFreightSolutions.com’s home page for an example of a slideshow with rotating graphics. The contents of such a slideshow may act as either ‘calls to action’ or advertisements for different pages of your website, or they may just be non-clickable images of your portfolio, etc..

Printed materials:

All printed materials are done with professional offset printing.  The brochures are full color on 100lb gloss book with aqueous coating.  The price for all design work is based upon an hourly rate of $40. The prices listed above are the minimum prices for each project.  Please visit our studio to view some samples of the various options.

Photo gallery page:

There are several options for photo galleries.  Here is an example of a responsive photo gallery (functions on mobile devices).  Some use a ‘light box’ technique for loading the image to the center of the screen and allowing the user to click ‘next’ or ‘previous’ to easily navigate through the images.

Custom graphics and icons:

When we create a new website, or give an existing one an overhaul, we design the look for the entire site.  This includes

  • Layout
  • Background
  • Header
  • Footer
  • Paragraphs
  • Links
  • Headings
  • Buttons
  • Fonts
  • Any other reusable component of the website

We develop mock-ups for your review until you are completely satisfied, then we convert the approved mock-up to HTML/CSS and proceed to finish your website.  More about custom graphics and icons.

The $350 price will cover the site-wide template and the home page and does not encompass additional pages requiring custom graphics.  It also does not cover costs for stock imagery which may be used in the design.

Professional Photography:

When you employ us for photography, we take that very seriously and go to great lengths to produce exceptional images.  This usually requires taking of several hundred pictures per hour with our Nikkon D300 with a combination of our 18-200mm, 70-200mm f2.8, or 50mm f1.4 lenses.  Post-processing involves filtering through these images to find all the best shots, then cropping, editing and/or enhancing them to offer extremely high quality images that represent your business in an attractive and professional way.

After we’ve processed the images, we present them to you as though they are stock images for you to purchase.  This system creates an incentive for us to generate a large quantity of excellent photos and provides you with the peace of mind knowing that you will only need to pay for the photos you like.  These full-resolution photos are typically under $30/each.

See TomRood.us for some of our event photography.

Custom contact forms:

These are totally tailored to your needs and may use SSL (padlock symbol) if you desire (additional $75).

Calendar agenda with Google Calendar integration:

A calendar agenda is an efficient way to display upcoming calendar events for your company.  The agenda we would set up would retrieve dates and times from a Google Calendar account, which has the most intuitive interface for adding events.
See HotOffThePressPaninis.com for an example of one such agenda on the home page.  If you click on the Calendar button, you will be taken to the Calendar page, which is a completely custom display of the Google Calendar.

Blog/News page:

The word ‘blog’ actually means ‘web log’, and as part of a larger website, is sort of a diary for your company.  In each ‘blog post’, you ordinarily record what the public might find of interest with your business this week/day/month (it’s up to you of course).  Some people use them to showcase their work, lacing the posts with photos.  The blog is also an excellent place to write articles about things pertaining to your business.  Blogs may be set to accept comments from the public as well, with different settings for the amount of moderation necessary.

1-5 minute overview video:

This would be a professionally scripted, recorded and edited using full HD quality equipment and cutting-edge software.  (See an example video)

TV Commercials:

Here is one of our commercial campaigns for example.

Text Message Marketing:

The best way to reach your customers is directly through their cell phones, obviously.   We’ve developed an affordable solution that allows your customers to ‘opt in’ to receiving marketing text messages from you by texting a keyword such as ‘DEALS’ to a unique number from their phone.  You can then administer the system through your smart phone or computer and send bulk messages, create new keywords and much more.  Ask us about custom SMS integration solutions.

Auto Dialers and other telephony solutions:

If your company needs to reach out to its clients with either a pre-recorded message and an interactive prompt, or if it needs to deliver dynamic information via phone, we have a solution for you.  Ask us about custom telephony solutions.

Live chat app:

A live chat app is a convenient way for website visitors to instantly get the information they are seeking.  Many people (including myself) click the button to start a live chat as soon as they enter a site that offers such a service.  It’s a way to directly communicate with a company representative without having to pick up a phone.  These apps usually cost between $20-80 per month for one person to use (see this page).  Ours is a system that we’ve developed and to use it we charge a one-time setup fee or a low monthly fee.  This system is easy to use and can be administered from a cell phone if desired.  More about live chat apps.

Google AdWords campaign set up with $150 credit:

Google AdWords is an advertising network that extends to nearly every corner of the digital world.  AdWords advertisements are usually encountered on the top of search results, whether someone runs a Google, AOL, or Ask.com search
Technology is changing the way marketing works.  Previously, we could only place our ads and hope that people would randomly notice them at the right time.  Today with a system such as AdWords, your ad is placed automatically where potential customers are actually searching for what your business offers.  You can specify geographic location, age, gender, income and other factors as well as the key words they used in their search.  With a properly built campaign, your ads will be seen only by the people you target.
AdWords is a no-commitment program, and the budget is fully customizable to meet your needs.  You can either manually add funds to the account, where it would simply stop running the ads when funding runs out, or after determining an effective budget, connect it to a credit card for automatic payment.  When you set up a campaign, you specify how much the campaign may use per day and per click.  If you set the budget to $25/day and the average cost per click is $2.50 to be on the first page of a search, your website will receive up to 10 clicks per day from the people you are targeting.  If you limit the cost per click, your ad will show only when the “bid” for the search is low enough for your limit, so with a reduced cost per click limit, it will likely show only on the second and third pages of a search.  More about Google AdWords.
