Oldtimebaptist.com rebuilt today with PHP

May 11, 2011GeorgeCompleted Websites, Hamburg, NY, May, 20110 Comment

Oldtimebaptist.com has taken many different forms over the years, by many designers/maintainers.  When we re-did it graphically a few years ago we didn’t focus on complete validation of the code.

The code is now valid on every page according to its !DOCTYPE, and the very structure of the site has been streamlined.

CSS now efficiently loads the graphics’ and assigns sizes to the tables and divisions while it assigns background images as well.  All out-dated tags have been converted to CSS styles.

PHP scripting now makes editing each page a breeze, through the strategic use of variables and ‘includes’.  The new directory structure will benefit the SEO of the site.

W3C validators can’t find a single error on any of the main pages!

Next for that site:

  • Fix the few odd-ball pages ? 5/12/11
  • Redirect old pages to the new automatically ? 5/13/11
  • Delete all the useless ‘orphan’ images and files (hundreds)
